The City of Dixon is asking community members to volunteer for supporting staff positions.
The City welcomes community participation in the enhancement and expansion of city services, and volunteers provide an invaluable support of support for city staff.
"Being a Volunteer encourages civic pride and provides a person sense of satisfaction," said long time former City Volunteer Jody Worthy, "By providing quality service to the City, both the community and its volunteers benefit in the following ways:
- Volunteers strengthen their skills and their talents benefit the community.
- Volunteers are personally enriched and meet others who share their desire to better the community
- Volunteers are placed according to their skills and interests."
Interested residents have the opportunity to volunteer their time working on things that interest them, such as in the office (clerical work) or even landscaping and maintenance.
Long term and short term programs are available, depending on the amount of training needed.
Most volunteer applicants must be at least 18 years of age (some positions require a minimum age of 16), will be required to fill out the Volunteer Program Application, and submit to a Department of Justice background check prior to placement.
Court community service appointed referrals are not accepted.
The City of Dixon is an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/AFFIRMATIVE ACTION EMPLOYER. Reasonable Accommodation in the application and selection process will be made upon request.
