The Congressman will join representatives from his Jobs Task Force at a press conference at 12:30 p.m. to unveil the “Just Hire One” Veterans Hiring Initiative. Just Hire One, organized by the Jobs Task Force, is a regional initiative to encourage employers in Northern California to pledge to hire at least one veteran at their business. The Jobs Task Force will present employers who have taken the pledge at the press conference. The Just Hire One program was started after hearing from a number of regional stakeholders about the difficulties some veterans are facing in finding civilian employment, particularly young veterans returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Representatives from Covered California (http://www.coveredca.com), the state’s new health insurance exchange, will also be available to help uninsured families find quality insurance at an affordable price.
