Rams Beat Rivals

Dixon High School varsity football team score a victory over rivals the Winters Warriors

The Dixon High School varsity football team faced rival Winters High School Friday night, winning an easy 50-27 victory.

The Rams' 2-0 season is the first time they've reached this record in several years.

For the second week in a row, DHS dominated the game with offense gaining more than 200 yards before the end of the first half. Defense held the Warriors to 13 points until late in the fourth quarter.

Back and forth comments on the social networking site Facebook helped fuel the rivalry, and built tension and excitement for the big game.

The Dixon Rams go against the Linden Lions at home next week.

Didn't O'Reilly's just close on the other side of town? There's a 'for lease' sign on the building.

Great to see the 4th graders getting ready for their 5th grade camp at Alliance Redwoods. I took myRead More 6th graders there for many years and Alliance has an outstanding program that keeps the kids focused on environmental education and stewardship. The night hike through the redwoods was always their favorite (along with the zip line). Note: No need to bring snacks as the dining hall meals has everything you will need, but you may want to bring some extra money for the gift shop. Dan Mattingly/Retired Teacher

Thanks for the post Dean. The Dixon VFW has contributed several thousand dollars so far to bothRead More homes in Dixon and will be contributing a lot more in the future for these Vets. The housing program is managed by the North Bay Coummity Action Council (formerly known as the Fairfield/Suisun CAC). The Vets are very grateful for all the community support.
