Guided Walk - Get to Know your Wild Neighbors at Lynch Canyon!

This Saturday, July 23rd from 10am to 1pm, join a guided walk with Naturalist Deborah Bartens. Explore this wonderful preserve and look for birds, butterflies, dragonflies, lizards and mammals.  Meet in the parking lot at 10am to take this walk on the wild side.

The guided hike is free, but parking is $5 per vehicle. Lynch Canyon has one restroom, located beside the parking lot. There is no drinking water anywhere on the property. Bring binoculars and a hand lens if you have them. Also bring $5 cash for parking, water, snacks or a picnic lunch, bug repellent, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and protection from sun, wind, and fog. For the protection of habitat, wildlife, and cattle, dogs are not allowed. No RSVP required. For questions, contact Natalie at 707-432-0150 x200 or volunteer@SolanoLandTrust.org.

Lynch Canyon was named one of the “Seven (hidden) wonders of the West” by Sunset Magazine.  The more than 1,000 acres of grassland, oak woodland and riparian habitat provide food and shelter for deer, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, songbirds, ducks, and many birds of prey, including the majestic golden eagle.  On a clear day, the ridge tops offer panoramic views extending from the Coast Range to San Francisco Bay and across the Delta to the Sierra Nevada.  Lynch Canyon is also a working ranch with cattle grazing
