Opening night for Dixon Little League will be no small affair this year, as there will be a Hall of Famer on the mound to kick off the season.
San Francisco Giants All Star Orlando Cepeda will throw out the first pitch on Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. at Hall Park.

Orlando was the National League Rookie of the Year in 1958 while playing for the San Francisco Giants and was the National League Most Valuable Player in 1967 for the St. Louis Cardinals , leading them to a World Series Championship. He was inducted in to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. We are all very excited to have one of baseball's all time great hitters start off the 2013 Dixon Little League season!
