It's Almost Time! 2014 Dixon May Fair in Less than 48 Hours!

The Dixon May Fair, which was first held in 1876, will open the gates on Thursday for the 139th time, with all the fabulous Fair Food you can imagine!

Still in the heart of the Delta's agricultural belt, the Fair offers a showcase of the community with local and regional music, livestock shows, exhibits of quilts, jams, and Grandma's cookie jar.

Grandstand entertainment includes Professional Bull Riding and Hot Rod Tractor Pulls, both sports that originated in agriculture.

While tradition is apparent, the Fair is keeping up with the 21st Century and hosts a Wine Pavilion and amateur winemaking competition and exhibits of digital photography.

Students have created fabulous dresses out of recycled grocery bags and duct tape in the same building as the taxidermy exhibits.
