VIDEO: Nick Watney Holes a Double Eagle at US Open

Davis High School grad Nick Watney is playing well at the US Open. He was tied with Tiger Woods after the opening round.

Davis High School’s Nick Watney played well in the opening round of the US Open. He ended the day tied with Tiger Woods (and three others) at -1. That’s three strokes behind leader Michael Thompson, who ended the day at -4.

Watney shot an albatross (or double eagle) on the par-5 17th hole. You can watch the shot in the video above.

The US Open is being played right now at Olympic Club in San Francisco, which is being described as one of the most challenging PGA courses in recent memory. View the leaderboard on ESPN
