Ways to Watch Tuesday's City Council

Dixon Dance Hosts Wednesday's Mixer

As usual, there is no shortage of meetings nor fun around town. First of all, don’t forget that if you cannot make it down to City Hall at 600 East A Street to observe a Dixon City Council Meeting, you have two other options for watching it without leaving the comfort of your home. If you have cable television, City Council runs on channel 20. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 22.

The other option is a live stream from your computer. Just go on to the City of Dixon website (www.ci.dixon.ca.us) and go to City Council and then click on the blue sentence that says “View City Meetings and Agendas.) Then, a window with a list of meetings with dates appears but in the top portion of the page, it will have the current meeting and say “Live.” Click on that line and another window should open that is the actual happenings inside City Hall. Then, if you’d like, you can click on your screen option to make the picture full screen. That makes it a little too blurry for my tastes but nonetheless, may suit you.

This meeting they will discuss the labor negotiations, need to approve a $27,000 expense for making Americans with Disabilities Act improvements, and consider amending City Code to allow fireworks within the city limits.

Secondly, don’t forget the Mixer Wednesday evening, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for members or $10 for non-members but the opportunities to meet and mingle with fellow business people are free. The Mixer will be at , 1910 North Lincoln, right next door to . There will also be a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, great food, and good fun. Call (707) 678-2650 for more information.

Lastly, Friday morning at 10 a.m. is an Open House and Ribbon Cutting for the Fairfield-Suisun Community Action Council new Veteran’s Housing Program, 261 South Jefferson Street. This is free and a good chance to see what this non-profit organization has achieved to help homeless Veterans get back in charge of their lives. There will be plenty of hot coffee and refreshments thanks to the 95.3 KUIC Team and Ron DuPratt Ford.
