The City is Removing This Tree & Replacing it With Two New Ones
Right Tree Right Place is a program sponsored by PG&E.
The City of Dixon recently reached out to PG&E about the removal of a large tree on city property. The tree "had split out in a previous storm and the remaining portion of the tree was within 10 feet of the high voltage lines," according to the City:
After reviewing with Utility Tree Service it was determined this would be the perfect opportunity to kick off National Arbor Day by removing a tree that was incompatible with the high voltage lines, eliminate a hazard tree, provide replacement trees , and provide a plaque to commemorate this event.

Two 15 gallon trees were provided to the city of Dixon to plant on Arbor Day along with a plaque to commemorate this event.
This project emphasizes the importance of selecting the right tree for the space where it will be planted. When planting in a neighborhood with overhead power lines it is particularly important to select a tree that will not grow into the power lines and create a potential safety hazard.
