Councilman Ceremello Informally Announces Mayoral Candidacy (Poll)

Dixon City Councilman Michael Ceremello has his eye on a mayoral term this year. Ceremello announced his candidacy for mayor through the column he maintains for the , also available at tedhickman.com.

In his column, Ceremello states that he is informally announcing his candidacy for mayor. It seems that an exchange with Mayor Jack Batchelor, whose mayoral term ends in 2012, propelled Ceremello to make the announcement.

In his column, Ceremello writes: "I am getting irritated with Jack deciding when there has been enough commentary from the council ... Jack’s only right as the meeting moderator is to assure that we aren’t repetitive and that all information is presented.  He fails at both in the attempt to move the meeting along.”

"Therefore, I have decided it is time to put bald leadership up against bold leadership because of his continual demeaning of those who attend and speak at meetings," Ceremello writes. "Consider this the informal announcement of my candidacy."
