Vacaville Hit and Run: SUV Strikes Teenage Boy

Police Seeking Maroon 2008 Toyota Sequoia

Police in Vacaville are seeking a man suspected of striking a
teenage boy with his car and then fleeing the scene Tuesday evening.
Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle
in the 3500 block of Harbison Drive at 6:21 p.m. Tuesday.
When officers and paramedics arrived, they found a 16-year-old
Vacaville boy who had been struck by a vehicle that subsequently fled.
The victim was unconscious when police arrived and was transported
by ambulance to Kaiser Hospital in Vacaville for head trauma, abrasions and
pain in his arms and legs.
His family told police that he is in stable condition.
The victim had been walking from the Vacaville Public Library on
Ulatis Drive toward the Morgan Park apartment complex on the sidewalk of
Harbison Drive, police said.
Witnesses told police that they saw a maroon SUV heading north on
Harbison Drive mount the curb and hit the pedestrian.
Police said the SUV continued north on the sidewalk after striking
the victim, hitting a pole and then some bushes before reentering Harbison
Drive.
Officers found vehicle debris and fluids leading from the scene to
the parking lot of the Target store on Harbison Drive. Police checked the
area for the vehicle but could not locate it.
Police said that surveillance video at Target showed the suspect's
vehicle entering the parking lot and parking immediately after the collision.
The driver entered Target briefly and then came out and drove
away, police said. Investigators have released a picture of the suspect taken
from the store's surveillance video.
Police said the debris found at the scene of the accident
indicates that the suspect was driving a maroon 2008 Toyota Sequoia.
Anyone with information about the collision has been asked to call
Vacaville police at (707) 449-5200 or Motor Officer Chad Hudson at (707)
330-2568.
