UPDATE: Winters Woman Dead, Police Search for Dangerous Gunman
Woman shot in Winters this morning, schools on lockdown while police search for the suspect.
UPDATE: Winters woman is dead after being shot in her car this morning around 9:30 a.m.
Winters Police told KCRA 3 that William Carl Gardner III, the woman’s ex-boyfriend, is the suspect, and that he is a threat to anybody, considering a firearm was used in this situation.

Schools in Winters are on lockdown after a woman was shot while sitting in her car this morning.
CBS News reports, three shots were fired into a black BMW SUV Railroad Avenue, hitting the woman, according to a Winters Police Department dispatcher, shooting out the driver's side window.
The victim’s condition is unknown.
Winters Joint Unified School District officials said all of their schools were placed on lockdown.
Winters residents have posted on Facebook that police are knocking on doors to search their backyards for a suspect that was reportedly seen fleeing in an ally way.
