Robbery Ends in Murder When Fairfield Store Owner Succumbs to Injuries

A business owner in Fairfield died from injuries sustained when his store was robbed Tuesday night, police said.

The business owner called police and reported that his store had been robbed and he needed an ambulance, police said.

Emergency crews responded to the 100 block of East Travis Boulevard shortly before 8 p.m. The victim told officers that three suspects had attacked him in
his store. The victim was taken to a trauma center where he succumbed to his
injuries, police said.

The suspects stole several items from the store including a cash register and a video recorder, according to police. Witnesses reported seeing three black males in their late teens enter the store at the time of the robbery.          

The suspects' vehicle was described as a brown or tan late model Honda or a similar car.
