Dixon Patch reader Scott Smith snapped this photo of a Volkswagen that caught on fire at the Kidwell Ave West on-ramp to Highway 80 around 11:45 a.m., Friday. Fire trucks had not yet arrived on scene when Smith snapped the photo.

The Dixon Fire Department arrived shortly after to knock the fire out. The motorist was out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived and no injuries were reported.
