Passenger Succumbs to Injuries; Three Dead From Sunday Crash

Two from Vacaville, One from Corning Die; Two Dixonites Injured

Two people from Vacaville and one from Corning have been identified as fatalities of yesterday’s crash at Porter and Pitt School Roads in Dixon.

The CHP reports that  Tracy Lynne Sabados, 19, of Corning was the driver of a 1996 Chrysler sedan that failed to stop. Sabados and her passenger, Angelina Christina De Los Reyes, 17, of Vacaville died at the scene. Billy Esteben Jaimes, 23, also from Vacaville, was a passenger in the back seat who succumbed to injuries after he was life flighted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

The two people in the 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck involved in the collision were from Dixon. Denver Karlisle Havlin and his fiancé, Jillian Marie Soderstrom, both 26, sustained injuries. Soderstrom received minor injuries to include lacerations to the right thumb, left shoulder, and right knee.

Havlin, who was the passenger, sustained minor injuries to include laceration to his head, left hand, and pain to entire body.

Both vehicles were driving an estimated 55 miles per hour according to the CHP. The Chrysler sedan was on Pitt School Road northbound and approaching the intersection at Porter Road. The Chevy pick up was on Porter Road approaching the intersection of Pitt School Road.

According to the CHP, the driver failed to stop at the stop sign that controls the intersection of Pitt School and Porter Roads. The force of the impact caused the Chrysler to overturn and come to rest in the ditch at the north west corner of the intersection facing a north easterly direction on its roof. The Chevy pick up also overturned and came to rest on the dirt should at the north west corner of the intersection facing in a northerly direction on its side.

The accident is still being investigated and there is no comment if drugs or alcohol played a role.

We will continue to update this story as we learn more.

Carlos, I am Tracy's Aunt. We would very much like to speak with you regarding Tracy. I am writing to your editor, Ms. Dingman and giving her my nephew, Shane's telephone number, as he does not have internet access at the moment. I would also like to express my entire families condolences to the families of Angelina and Billy. We know they must be as devastated as we are at the moment. I also hope that the people in the other vehicle will get well soon. Thank you for your interest in doing a followup story on my niece and her friends. They will be missed by us all greatly.

The funeral for my niece, Tracy Lynne Sabados, will be held this coming Monday, July 9th, 2012 between the hours of 3pm and 5pm at Nadeau Funeral Home in Vacaville, CA ( http://tinyurl.com/NadeauFuneralHome ). If you are in the area and would like to attend, please do. We are trying to raise the funds to pay for the funeral, so instead of sending flowers, if you could make a small donation to the funeral home directly, it would be much appreciated. Thank you all for your kind thoughts, words and love during this time of great sorrow.

I am so sorry for the loss your family has suffered. I wish the city/ county would look into ways to make this intersection safer. I have seen so many accidents at this corner I have lost count.
Gary Erwin July 03, 2012 at 05:07 PM
With all due respect to the families involved. This note is not for you it is to those that feel that modifications need to be made to the road or signage. I have never had a problem (as well 99.9% of the town’s residents) at that intersection because I slow down and stop at the stop sign. There is no need to do anything further. If a car travels at an excessive speed and does not stop at the stop sign just beyond the tracks bad things can happen. I apologize to the families and friends involved if my words seem course. Nothing but respect for you in your hours of need.
