UPDATE #MonticelloFire Growing: At 3,000 Acres & 15% Contained Near Dam & Hwy 128 on Saturday Afternoon

#MonticelloFire update from Cal Fire as of 3 p.m.

The blaze at Hwy 128 at Monticello Dam, southeast shore of Lake Berryessa is at 3,000 acres with 15-percent containment.

The blaze is covering an area where the Solano, Napa and Yolo county lines converge, Cal Fire officials said.

Hwy 128 is closed from Canyon Creek to Pleasant Valley Drive.

The Golden Bear Estates and Canyon Creek Resort Campground have been evacuated. Evacuation shelter set up at the Winters Community Center.

A vegetation fire that started on Friday night in parts of Solano County is burning through 1,500 acres and 25 percent contained as of 11:45 a.m. this morning, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire off of state Highway 128 at Monticello Dam in an area near the southeast shore of Lake Berryessa was reported around 9:30 p.m. Friday, according to Cal Fire.

The blaze is covering an area where the Solano, Napa and Yolo county lines converge, Cal Fire officials said.

A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for 30 residences in Golden Bear Estates in the city of Winters in Yolo County, and at the Canyon Creek Resort Campground, according to Cal Fire.
  
An evacuation shelter set up at the Winters Community Center. 

There are 25 fire engines, six crews and six dozers at the scene, Cal Fire officials said.

State Highway 128 is closed between the city of Winters and state Highway 121 as fire crews battle the blaze, according to Cal Fire.
