I-80 Westbound Lanes Reopening After Fires; Solano Fire Reports 2 Accidents on EB I-80

Lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 80 were reopening following several fires along the highway in the Fairfield area this afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

Meanwhile, there now are possibly two accidents on eastbound I-80 this evening, according to a fire department's social media posting at 7:30 p.m.

The Solano Fire Department reported on Facebook: "Cordelia / Fairfield | Traffic Collision | EB I-80 / HW-12 | 2 separate accidents / 1 accident has reports of a subject trapped | 19:33."

Traffic was heavy earlier in the area of the fires, which occurred at W. Texas Street, Rockville Road and Travis Boulevard.

The fires were reported around 3:07 p.m., and another fire was reported at 3:12 p.m. just west of W. Texas Street.

The CHP issued a Sig-alert and travel advisory at 4:18 p.m. when fire adjacent to the freeway closed the W. Texas on-ramp and the two right lanes of westbound I-80. The lanes reopened at 4:37 p.m., the CHP said.

The No. 3 and 4 lanes of westbound I-80 were still closed from Oliver Road past W. Texas Street at 4:40 p.m.
