Update: 2 People Dead, 3 Injured in Pitt School Road, Porter Road Accident

One individual was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries.

Update 4:58 p.m Two people have died in a traffic collision at the intersection of Porter and Pitt School Roads.

According to the California Highway Patrol, three people were driving along Pitt School Road, approaching Porter Road in a Chrysler sedan, at 2:30 p.m., Sunday. CHP officer Dweyer said the driver of the sedan was traveling at a rate of 60 miles per hour or more when they failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and collided with a pickup truck that was traveling along Porter Road towards Midway Road driving about 55 miles per hour.

The collision launched the Chrysler in the air and the vehicle landed on its roof. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but were unable to save the lives of two individuals, whose names were not released, that were in the sedan. A third person in the sedan was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

The two people in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries according to the CHP. It is not known at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
