Dixon Police Officers Will Be on the Lookout for Underage Drinking Tonight

The Dixon Police Department will be on the hunt for underage drinkers tonight, will patrol tonight's graduation ceremony

Any graduate who plans to celebrate their graduation ceremony with alcoholic beverages might want to think twice.

The Dixon Police Department will be vigilant Wednesday for anyone choosing to drink alcohol as part of their graduation celebration.

Dixon Police Chief Jon Cox said some of his officers will patrol the graduation ceremony tonight, and will be monitoring for parties that may involve alcohol. Cox pointed out that it’s something they do every night.

“All laws pertaining to juveniles and alcohol consumption will be strictly enforced,” Cox wrote in an e-mail to Dixon Patch. “Parents should also encourage alcohol-free social gatherings, and be aware of the Social Host Ordinance which holds them accountable for alcohol being provided to minors in their home.”
