Dixon Police Officers Capture Armed Robbery Suspect

Dixon Police Officers caught up with a man suspected of robbing a Dixon business at gunpoint Monday night.

Bad guys can run, but they can’t hide.

An accurate description and a fast response by Dixon Police officers led to the capture of man who is suspected of robbing Discount Liquor Monday night.

Police received a call about a man who had walked into Discount Liquor, next to Safeway on Straford Avenue, and robbed the place at gunpoint Monday night.

The man, whose name was not release pending an investigation into the alleged crime, ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and the gun that he used to rob the store Dixon Police Sgt. Sam McInnis said.

Officers located the man walking on the corner of West H and North Lincoln streets and took him into custody without incident McInnis said.

“We got a guy, arrested him, recovered the money and recovered the gun,” McInnis said. “He was (located) approximately about four blocks away (from the store).”
