Dixon Police Arrest Vacaville Man After Vehicle Pursuit

The vehicle pursuit began in Dixon when police observed a stolen ATV in the bed of a pickup truck

A Vacaville man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest Sunday morning.

Dixon Police officers took Hector R. Romero, 31, of Vacaville into custody after a multi-agency vehicle pursuit.

Officers attempted to stop Romero as he was driving at Ford F250 pickup truck in the area of Evans Road and West A Street at 10 a.m. Police said the truck that Romero was driving contained a stolen, dark-green 4 Wheeler (all terrain quad-type vehicle) in its rear truck bed.

Police dispatchers had moments before released the description of the stolen ATV, according to the When the Dixon officers attempted to stop Romero, he allegedly sped away from them, leading them on a pursuit out into the county area.

With the assistance of Solano County Sheriff’s deputies and the California Highway Patrol, the Dixon Police Department were able to take Romero into custody after his truck got stuck in the mud and he allegedly attempted to escape on foot, according to police.

Romero was taken to the county jail and booked on the aforementioned charges.
