Dixon Firefighters Battle Small Brush Fire

The Dixon Fire Department responded to a report of a small brush fire this afternoon, contained it within five minutes.

Dixon fire crews battled a small brush fire along Midway Road this afternoon.

At about 12:43 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a home on the 5000 block of Midway road in response to a report of a out of control, conrol burn.

The control burn was inside a irrigation ditch. The flames spread into some dryer grass surrounding it, according to the . Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire within five minutes of their arrival.

Flames burned about an acre and a half of vegetation; no injuries were reported and no structures were in immediate danger according to the department.
