3 Hit in Possibly Targeted Drive-By Shooting

The Fairfield Police Department is investigating the triple shooting

Three people were shot Wednesday night in what police believe was a targeted, but not gang-related shooting in Fairfield.

Officers received calls about a shooting around 8:37 p.m. in the 1100 block of Dana Dr. Callers said multiple shots had been fired and a victim had been loaded into a car with other people.

Officers went to Northbay Medical Center in Fairfield and found the car, along with three gunshot victims. The victims said they had been standing in front of a Dana Drive apartment building when suspects in a black Infinity car approached them.

The car stopped near the victims and then opened fire, police said.

Three suspects fled in their car onto B. Gale Wilson Boulevard. The at-large suspects were described only as black men, according to police.

Several bullets hit the building behind the three victims and several casings were found on the street. Stray bullets struck a parked motorcycle, as well. No additional gunshot victims were found after police checked on the welfare of apartment residents.

The victims, identified only as a 27-year-old Fairfield resident and two Vallejo residents, one 28 years old and the other 31 years old, suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and were treated at the hospital Wednesday night. Investigating officers said the shooting is possibly not random, but there is no indication that it was gang-related.
