The community is invited to come to the Dixon Fairgrounds and join friends and family in walking the track to beat cancer. Every Relay For Life event begins with a Survivor Lap - celebrating and honoring all cancer survivors. Throughout the day activities are planned for the entire family, with the money collected going to the American Cancer Society’s research programs. All of the Relay for Life teams have planned a themed lap at various times throughout the day (i.e. Dixon Firefighters will have a Surprise Party, Dixon Chicks & Friends are Protesting Cancer and Team Ohana is having a Zombie Lap at 2 a.m.). There will be live entertainment, games, birthday parties and the Miss Dixon Relay Pageant. The relay ends Sunday with a "Fight Back Ceremony" starting at 8:30 a.m.
