Library, Lion's Dinner Dance, Mae's Attic and More Offer Local Entertainment, Personal Growth

It’s Thursday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do this weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. Normally, we search for the best bets to take you away from home for an end of the work-week celebration. After checking the forecast for the next week, though, we thought of a better idea—things to do without getting out of town--unless to nearby  movie theaters. Check out our ideas!

5. Sunday Church

Where/When:  There are a dozen different churches sprinkled all over town and almost all have Sunday services as early as 8 a.m. all the way through a Spanish-speaking one that meets at 5:30 p.m. There is a list available at the Chamber of Commerce website: www.dixonchamber.org.

Why Go: Going to church provides the necessary ingredients over regular attendance to bake a healthy value system, understand what is right and wrong based on God’s Law of the Ten Commandments, teaches why there is a belief in God, and helps create a lasting foundation of love and support from friends who share similar beliefs about their world. Really, the walls won't fall in.

Pricing: Free and some churches provide coffee.
