NWS: Funnel Cloud Spotted Over Dixon

The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory for Dixon, Davis Sunday afternoon

The National Weather Service this afternoon issued a significant weather advisory for Dixon and Davis after a storm watcher spotted a funnel cloud in the Dixon area.

The storm spotters reported seeing a strong thunderstrom near Dixon at 3:30 p.m., moving north at 15 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

"A weather spotter near Dixon saw a funnel cloud with this storm," the National Weather Service said. "The storm could have brief, very heavy rainfall and hail. Anyone traveling along Highway 113 between Dixon and Davis should watch for reduced visibility in heavy rainfall and never drive your car into standing water. The storm could affect Davis in the next half hour."
