To Do: More Fireworks Info, Antique Sale, and Tea

Kappel & Kappel Moves; DDBA Dines

There's plenty to keep you busy in this small town. Here's some of the things going on this week.

1. The is developing a program to deal with the sales and use of safe and sane fireworks. They will host a community workshop this Thursday, March 10, 7 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 600 East A Street at 7 p.m. to get input from the public.

2. On Friday, March 11, come by and meet the staff of as they celebrate their new place around the corner from where they were—in the Safeway Plaza Shopping Center and a lot closer to Safeway itself. The great coffee and pastries, courtesy of Ron DuPratt Ford will be served free and you’ll share in their ribbon cutting ceremony.

3.. Saturday, March 12, 11:30 a.m. Annual Women’s Spring Tea sponsored by the Women. Guest speaker is Dr. Kristina Wiley of Linde Lane Tea Room. Tickets are $20. Event is held in the church social hall at 209 North Jefferson across from the Dixon Chamber of Commerce.

4. Soroptimist Antique Sale is this weekend, March 12, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 13, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  at the , 655 South First Street. Admission is $5 with free return and free parking on both days.

5. Fundraiser Dinner at for the Monday, March 14, any time between 4 and 9 p.m. Dinner is $22 and includes salad, bread, fantastic selection of five entrees and non-alcoholic beverage. Tickets available by calling Event Chairwoman Kathy King of Imagine Mortgage Services at (916) 838-8073 or go by the DDBA office at 165 East A Street, across from the Dixon Florist.

Great to see the 4th graders getting ready for their 5th grade camp at Alliance Redwoods. I took myRead More 6th graders there for many years and Alliance has an outstanding program that keeps the kids focused on environmental education and stewardship. The night hike through the redwoods was always their favorite (along with the zip line). The housing program is managed by the North Bay Coummity Action Council (formerly known as the Fairfield/Suisun CAC). The Vets are very grateful for all the community support.
