Readers’ Choice Best Florist: Dixon Florist and Gift Shop

Readers of Dixon Patch have selected Dixon Florist and Gift Shop as the best florist in Dixon.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and according to the readers of Dixon Patch, is the best place in Dixon to pick up a bouquet of flowers for mom.

The readers of Dixon Patch have selected the family-owned florist as Readers’ Choice Best Florist, through their comments and poll votes.

“I feel very honored to be chosen best florist,” said Courtney Kett, who helps run the business along with her sisters Melissa Taylor and Dana Martin. “We try very hard to take care of all our customers and make it a fun experience for everybody.”

This year, Dixon Florist celebrates its 50th year in Dixon, Kett said. Her parents purchased the business in 1962, she said. This time of year is one of the busiest for the sisters, Kett said, with Mother’s Day and Promise Weekend at Dixon High School.

Around this time of year, the staff at Dixon Florist is also busy preparing wedding arrangements, Kett said.

“We are really known for having exceptional seasonal flowers,” she said.

Located in the heart of Downtown Dixon, Dixon Florist is hard to miss, with their colorful signs and light displays which are displayed throughout the year.

Take a look at what some of the readers of Dixon Patch said about the business:

"There is only one place to get flowers and beautiful gifts and that place is Dixon Florist."

"Dixon Florist, no contest."

"Yes, Safeway and Walmart sell flowers but they do not provide the friendly customer service, attention to detail, creative design, the willingness to go above and beyond, etc. that Dixon Florist has had since before Safeway and Walmart were even in town. I don't know anyone who has been disappointed with Dixon Florist."

Asked about what makes Dixon special, Kett said: “The people in Dixon are tremendous. I couldn’t imagine having a business and raising a family anywhere else. The people of Dixon are so generous and supportive, they care about one another and they are always there.”

Dixon Patch congratulates Dixon Florist and Gift Shop for being chose as Best Florist in Dixon. Take a look at all of the winners of this year’s Readers’ Choice categories.

This is a question that need not be asked. It is like asking if the sun rises in the east. Dixon Florist is not only unquestionably the best place to get flowers and much more in Dixon but the entire County of Solano and beyond and it has been for the 33 years I have lived here. Courtney, Dana and Melissa are naturals and treat each person as someone special just as their parents did for so many years.

I love Dixon Florist and all the staff, they have become my friends and their caring and service is way beyond anything I have ever experienced. Plus their talent and artistic flair speaks for itself. It is like having three beautiful fairy godmother's, what ever you ask for, they deliver! Thank you Melissa, Courtney and Dana and all your great staff!

Didn't O'Reilly's just close on the other side of town? There's a 'for lease' sign on the building.

Great to see the 4th graders getting ready for their 5th grade camp at Alliance Redwoods. I took myRead More 6th graders there for many years and Alliance has an outstanding program that keeps the kids focused on environmental education and stewardship. The night hike through the redwoods was always their favorite (along with the zip line). Note: No need to bring snacks as the dining hall meals has everything you will need, but you may want to bring some extra money for the gift shop. Dan Mattingly/Retired Teacher
