Enjoy Community; Downtown Tree Lighting is Tonight

Free Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides; Santa Photos

If for any reason you have not discovered downtown Dixon, there is no better time than this Thursday to do so. It is one of our finest family gatherings. From 4 to 8 p.m. the Downtown Dixon Business Association and the City of Dixon invites the public to the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival held at the Women’s Improvement Club Park.

Merchants and city crews have been getting ready for this special night so wrap that scarf around your neck, pull on your gloves and plan to enjoy all the sights and sounds of our little hometown.

After Santa rides in to town on a Dixon firetruck, he'll be available for pictures with his Elves. There will be roving costumed characters, Christmas music as well as young performers on stage, and free horse-drawn carriage rides.

Several of the city's agencies such as the Police Department and the Fire Department will offer hot cocoa, cookies, and more. Many more activities will be happening for children and families all throughout the downtown including the inside of the library and Calvary Chapel Church.

This is the perfect time to step inside the numerous shops and take a peek at their wares that might make great gifts for the holidays. You can also enjoy a delicious hot dinner or an after dinner drink in Dixon's downtown as well. For more information, contact the Downtown Dixon Business Asspociation at (707) 678-8400.
