Dixon Rock Studio To Close Its Doors

The all-ages venue that offered rehearsal space to Dixon bands and a place for them to rock out during the weekends will be closing its doors this month

For the past several  months has hosted all-ages shows in town, featuring Dixon, Vacaville and Davis bands and those as far away at Stockton and Sacramento.

Moments ago, owner Octavio Portugal posted a message on Dixon Rock Studio's Facebook Page that read:

"Due To complaints from the neighbors across the street from the studio and vandalism, tagging and theft, I am sorry to announce that the Dixon Rock Studio will be closing down. We will be finishing up current shows left on for August."

Jessie Sherrin: WHAT?!?!?!?

Gina D'Antonio: I've only been to a show there once but it was a great place. That really blows.

Patricia Smith Mendisco: That's really too bad! You guys gave our teens a place to show their talent, and you will be missed.

Reached by phone this afternoon, Portugal confirmed that his Dixon Rock Studio is closing its doors this month, but will have one last show on Saturday, Aug. 13.

We will feature a full story about the closure of the Dixon Rock Studio in tomorrow's Dixon Patch. Please check back for updates on this story.
