Dixon Patch Viewfinder: Vintage Motorcyclists Converge on Dixon
Harley "knuckleheads" were celebrated
Vintage motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the west and beyond converged on Dixon's May Fair grounds on June 17 and 18 for their annual get-together. It's indeed a lovefest of everything mechanical on two wheels, and besides showing off bikes, there's a big swap meet to boot.Â
The show is made possible by the Fort Sutter Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, based in Placerville. This year special attention was given to "knuckleheads," a type of Harley Davidson two-cylinder engine produced in the 1930s and '40s.
There were lots of tatoos to be seen, and the crowd, like the bikes, tended to be on the older side.
