Book in the Works About the Short-Lived Film Studio

As memories of the proposed Morning View film studio and Carissa Carpenter fade away, I'm working to preserve the complete story. I've been interviewing local people (plus several from out of town) for three months now and will turn the information into a non-fiction book.

My concept is to mainly tell the Dixon story, since the Sacramento Bee covered Carpenter’s prior activities in a series of articles.

I've had four non-fiction books published in the past and have worked as a newspaper reporter and columnist. I also wrote a series of blogs about Morning View (in addition to local historical articles) for Dixon Patch.

The book will dwell on Carissa Carpenter’s personality and character and also delve into how Dixon received her film studio proposal. The book will offer a number of different perspectives and viewpoints, but most of all, it will be a good read!”

My preliminary title for the book is “Small Town; Big Plans” but I expect that will change.

Now that I'm winding down my interviews, I'd like to hear from anyone else who wants to offer their opinions on the film studio proposal and how Dixon reacted to it. I'm especially interested in any information which hasn’t appeared in the media yet. Send emails to naturalbornwriter@hotmail.com or regular letters to 1300 Pembroke Way, Dixon CA 95620. These communications should include the sender’s name and phone number, but if the sender asks, his or her name will not be used in the book.

I also needs photographs of Carpenter and her team.

If anyone knows how Carpenter can be reached these days, please contact me. The book should be completed and published by the end of this year.
