Dixon May Fair Already Gearing Up for 2014 – Any Suggestions?

The Dixon Mayfair has announced the 2014 theme, dates and handbook and is asking for your suggestions on new categories to be added to the showcase.

Although it is less than four-months post, the Dixon May Fair board has been hard at work planning for next year. Patch is proud to be the first to announce the 2014 Fair artwork has been chosen, with a "Best of Show" theme.

"We want to celebrate all of our friends and neighbors who bring their best garden produce, crafts, quilts, baked goods, preserves, art and photography, wines, animals and more to compete in the Dixon May Fair," said Patricia Conklin, CEO. The Fair is scheduled for May 8-11, 2014.

As one of the oldest Fairs in California, the Dixon May Fair has a long tradition of showcasing the amazing talents of the residents of Solano County. The Best of Show theme honors the competitive exhibits and livestock shows that are an integral part of any county fair.

There are hundreds of categories that have changed over the years to reflect the lifestyles and skills of the community.  Recent competition has included technology skills, organic gardening, home wine-making, and digital photography for example.

Traditional categories such as jams and jellies, pies, quilts, and garden produce remain popular.

The Dixon May Fair would like to invite the public to suggest new categories they would like to see at the Fair.
