Dixon Patch Viewfinder: Faces and Fun at the Annual Block Party

Nice weather, great turnout; but Planned Parenthood is picketed

Dixon's Annual Block Party in the downtown park on Saturday had something for everyone. The weather was mild, a band played, food from pizza to cupcakes was available, and whole families turned out to enjoy the day.

The event is primarily an information-dispensing and fundraising event for area organizations. It's sponsored by Dixon Family Services and  Dixon Advocates for Children and Youth.

One of the organizations, Planned Parenthood (apparently from Vacaville), was picketed by a religious group regarding abortions. Eventually Dixon police cleared a space between the picketers and the Planned Parenthood information table so that people could visit the table if they wished.
