The Dixon Chamber of Commerce was established in 1909 to promote local businesses and the town of Dixon. Each yearMore the chamber sponsors many local events, such as the Dixon May Fair Parade, Epicurean Fete and the Citizen of the Year Dinner Dance.

The chamber comprises 220 Dixon businesses and welcomes any business that wants to join. The Chamber of Commerce also doubles as a Visitors Center, providing information on local attractions and sites.

Each month the chamber hosts mixers that give business owners and Dixon residents alike the opportunity to network with each other. The chamber's offices are located not far from downtown Dixon and are easily accessible, with ample parking.

Maine Prairie High School

Maine Prairie High School is a small continuation school that is situated on E C Street not far from downtown Dixon.More Six full- and part-time teachers serve about 100 students.

The school has a Leadership Club that gives its members an opportunity to be involved in the community. The club hosts car shows and festivals in Dixon and creates a sense of accomplishment for students. The school is highly visible from E C Street, and is located next to Anderson Elementary School.

Dixon Public Library

Dixon Public Library is situated in the beautiful downtown. The library was established in 1911 and opened its doorsMore in 1913. Patrons can choose from among 50,000 books, audio books, CDs and DVDs or use one of the library's eight computers to access the Web. 

The library opened its children's wing in 1958 and maintains its collections to the delight of the dozens of children who visit the library each day. Dixon Public Library has 7,500 registered borrowers and is part of the SNAP network.

SNAP comprises Dixon Public Library, Solano County Library, Benicia Public Library, Napa City-County Library, St. Helena Public Library, Solano Community College Library and Napa Valley College Library.

The library offers two special collections: one that focuses on the history of Dixon and the other on California's history. A wheelchair lift allows access to the library's computer wing. 

The staff at the library includes five librarians, four circulation staff, six student aides, one archivist, one network administrator and one administrative support manager.

Dixon City Hall

Dixon City Hall is the main administrative building for the City of Dixon and is located minutes away  fromMore downtown.

City Hall administers a wide range of services for the city including police and fire services, as well as finance, public works, economic development, planning and a variety of others.

Residents can apply for building permits, make payments towards their utility bills or sign up for one of the many recreational activities provided by the city's recreation and community services department. Residents can also pay some of their utility bills online through the city's Web site.

Dixon City Council meets every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from within city hall. The city also streams their city council meetings live online and offers videos of its past meetings.

City Hall is located at 600 East A St.,  and its building was dedicated on Oct. 4, 1982.
