Carlos, to use the term "legend" to introduce and event no less important to Mexico than…Read More the War of Independence is to us in America can be easily perceived as an insult. There are recorded dates, events, persons and injustices which created the volatile setting for Priest, Miguel Hidalgo to pronounce the call to arms. It is documented in history texts that he actually started the movement as a somewhat religious war which caused him to be excommunicated and defrocked by the Catholic Church. I find it ironic that after more than 200 years since his execution, it is mostly Catholic Churches that get directly involved in the celebration. As for celebrating the event...I do whenever I happen to visit Mexico where it holds a special meaning, on the night of the 15th.

How does her partial hand paralysis stop her from being able to work there? If she isn't able to…Read More perform the job duties then she isn't qualified but if she can perform the necessary tasks then she should be allowed to work, even with her hand issue. Good luck. Someone will probably see this and offer her a better job!

What is the point of going to the chamber and scheduling event's, if they decide to hold an event…Read More the same date you already have on their calendar.
The stand down dinner is the 18th of August. The chamber knows this we rescheduled it to that, because it conflicted with a chamber event.

Thanks to Rotary and their gallant effort to raise funds without RDA money from the city and to all…Read More who donated. Our family and friends had a great time watching from our traditional spot in the park--but this was truly one of the busiest displays we've seen. AWESOME job! And loved the smiley faces, too.

Thank you Rotary Club! We invited 27 people from our church group for a "dessert",…Read More enjoyed some fireworks with neighbors in front of our home and then walked to Veteran's park with our chairs (quite a troop) to watch the Rotarian fireworks show. It was great despite the wind, which must have been problematic for those folks in charge. Like Diane (above) we all loved that perfect smiling face and even his odd, wind-shaped brothers. A friend from Vacaville, who was too ill to come, texted me and said she was enjoying the show from her bedroom window. Job well done.
