"unspent .32 caliber bullet"?? The bullet is the part of a cartridge that goes down rangeRead More when fired. I suspect we are talking about an "unspent .32 caliber cartridge" or "unspent .32 caliber round of ammunition".

The victim was obviously killed with an unregistered hammer. If the weapon had been registered, theRead More crime never would have happened. California hasn't gone far enough. We need to register all hammers, baseball bats and rolled up newspapers.

DR. PATRICK BYRNE, Johns Hopkins Hospital I can't think of a single injury of this nature that wasRead More incurred by any other species other than a pit bull or a rottweiler.

ANDREW FENTON, M.D. As a practicing emergency physician, I have witnessed countless dog bites.Read More Invariably, the most vicious and brutal attacks I have seen have been from the pit bull breed. Many of the victims have been children. In a recent study from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, pit bull attacks accounted for more ER visits than all other breeds combined. In young children, the most common part of the body injured was the face. Numerous studies have proven that the number-one cause of dog bite fatalities is the pit bull breed. I am certain that many attacks are due to owner negligence, but the fact remains that many were unpredictable and were perpetrated by formerly "loving and loyal" pets. Dr. Chagnon has every right to leave our town as she claims she will if pit bulls are banned, just like every one of her patients has the right not to attend her clinic where she brings her pit bulls. I applaud Mayor Pro Tem Joanne Sanders for bringing this issue to the forefront. In the interest of public safety, I recommend we enforce a spay/neuter requirement on pit bulls while reviewing and revamping all of our policies relating to animal bites.

CESAR MILAN, celebrity dog trainer "Yeah, but this is a different breed...the power that comesRead More behind bull dog, pit bull, presa canario, the fighting breed - They have an extra boost, they can go into a zone, they don't feel the pain anymore. He is using the bulldog in him, which is way too powerful, so we have to 'make him dog' (I guess as in a "regular" dog) so we can actually create the limits. So if you are trying to create submission in a fighting breed, it's not going to happen. They would rather die than surrender.". If you add pain, it only infuriates them..to them pain is that adrenaline rush, they are looking forward to that, they are addicted to it... That's why they are such great fighters." Cesar goes on to say..."Especially with fighting breeds, you're going to have these explosions over and over because there's no limits in their brain."

Who were the johns? What was their market? Where did they advertise - I am curious to know so thatRead More I can recognise anything similar

Iris Dandi, I agree that any those who sought sexual services should be arrested and charged, too, butRead More I think law enforcement was focusing on arresting the pimps involved in human trafficking, which is a serious problem. These women were more than likely illegal immigrants from Central America. They need to be given the option of going into a safe house, where they can receive treatment,or being deported. The reason that law enforcement should do this is that they will more than likely be out on the street working for another pimp unless they are given sanctuary in a safe house. I live in Alta Heights and I'm pretty sure there is something of a similar nature going on in the apartments near where I live. Things have quieted down of late, however. I wonder if Napa Patch would find out the address of the brothel in Napa.

"Wagstaffe said that this latest arrest prompted a thorough interview by a detective, who foundRead More no evidence of any mental illness." Well Hell, if the DETECTIVE, who is NOT a Psychologist OR Psychiatrist didn't see any sign of mental illness, there must not be any, right? Stevie Wonder could see this woman has a mental problem, and does NOT deserve to sit in jail or be charged with a crime. She needs and deserves help, from a DR, NOT a friggen Detective! So now we're going to start arresting the elderly for being confused, or having possible dementia?!?! It's all about the $ right? $25k bail, for WHAT? This is so wrong!

"She Believe She Can Fly"....................................... She used to think thatRead More She could not go on......... And life was nothing but an awful song...... But now She know the meaning of true love...... She leaning on the everlasting arms...... If She can see it, then She can do it....... If She just believe it, there's nothing to it....... [Chorus:] She believe She can fly...... She believe She can touch the sky...... She think about it every night and day....... Stowing away on a Plane and fly away..... She believe She can soar...... She see herself running through that open door...... She believe She can fly....... She believe She can fly..... She believe She can fly..... See She was on the verge of breaking down...... Sometimes silence can seem so loud.......... There are miracles in life She must achieve......... But first She know it starts inside of her, oh...... If She can see it, then She can be it......... If She just believe it, there's nothing to it [Chorus] She believe She can fly...... She believe She can touch the sky...... She think about it every night and day....... Spreading her wings and flying away..... She believe She can soar...... She see herself running through that open door...... She believe She can fly....... She believe She can fly..... She believe She can fly.....

The $950 raised should be more than enough to send her on a one way ticket to Hawaii. Then she canRead More be their problem.

Lets hope that sometime while their are all crying and saying how wonderful those kids were theyRead More might get the hint that alcohol, speeding and no seatbelts is what made this demonstration possible.
bluecollardoctor April 8, 2014 at 10:01 am
This crash was reported in at least three other news outlets and each chose to include anRead More explanation of who Cindy is, and on each site there was someone complaining about that. I think when someone famous is involved that gets reported because of the tendency towards sensationalism in the media. Patch in this case is sort of just re-reporting the news from other sites. But it could have been edited out as everyone in Napa knows who CP is (and if they don't they don't care). I would also like to hear about the child's family, and the circumstances leading up to the crash.
bluecollardoctor April 8, 2014 at 10:08 am
I am dismayed by the number of crashes recently that have involved "veering" orRead More "swerving" as if it was an impossible task for some people to keep their car in their own lane pointed in the right direction. At least when alcohol, sleep deprivation, or texting is involved we have an explanation. But when those factors are not involved it is really scary that we have here now a population of drivers who seemingly don't have the skills to operate their vehicles.

Young people think they're invincible at this age. Yes, it can and does happen to you! Such a sadRead More loss of two lives and three left behind to suffer. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends.

I am here to bear witness that bad things DO happen to young people. At the age of 24 our son wasRead More struck by a car while crossing the street. He suffered a traumatic brain injury as well as many other injuries. At one point we were not sure that he was going to make it. But now with the help of his family we are fighting hard to regain the use of his limbs and combat his short term memory problems. It is now like it is on TV you don't just jump up from your hospital bed and you are good as new.
