Joe Craven is an incredible talent. We are fortunate to have such an accomplished musician andRead More entertainer living in Dixon. I'm looking forward to the Joe Craven/Antsy McClain special on PBS next year.

Thank you for a great two hours of radio Joe! I listened online while doing payroll. You put a lotRead More of time into the program and it played well. I enjoyed the rendition of New York, New York in car horns .... Reminded me of Spike Jones. Thanks again!

So what. Comcast is a joke. I am dropping them after the NCAA football season. When they closedRead More the Benicia office, that was the last straw.

Great. Some girl got little to no money for her pig, and some rich brats parrents paid 9,880 forRead More hers. Think they coulda helped out another kid?? Ffa sales have turned into a big "show boat sale" for the rich kids to be able to brag. Pisses me off!!

Sorry William, but you obviously were not there to understand the meaning behind many of theseRead More animals going so high in price. I disagree that it has become a showboat sale. Granted there are always a few kids that get a good amount for their animal, but also many others that are rewarded for marketing their animals and helping in their community.

The greatest part of this story has yet to be told. Olivia Simpson’s goat went for such aRead More high price because the amazing citizens of Dixon were rallying behind her after the incredible illness that has left her fighting for her life for the last two months. Olivia came down with Meningitis and Encephalitis (and several secondary illnesses) in March, and is paralyzed from the chest down; yet her gracious attitude shines through each day without fail. One of the things that kept her going and helping her to fight, was the hope of taking her goat to the Fair. While she wasn't able to make it due to her illness, her younger brother presented it for her. Olivia watched her goat sell via “FaceTime,” and said it was the best day of her life. She’s made an impact on this community like you wouldn’t believe, and when I heard her goat went for that amount, I nearly cried.

My memories of Jon Pardi were years ago when the new Dixon Senior Center opened. Jon, who wasRead More probably three or four years old, entertained everyone on the front steps area with his western singing and dance. Even at his young age we knew then that he would go far in the music industry. You have made Dixon proud, good luck to you Jon! Shirley Parsons
