Baby Mama Drama? Solano County Answers Child Support Questions

The Solano County Department of Child Support Services conducts workshops to help parents and other family members have a better understanding of the child support process.

The free workshops are held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Solano County Department of Child Services, 435 Executive Court North in Fairfield. 

Compromise of Arrears – Learn how to reduce past state-owed child support debt, legally known as the compromise of arrears program.  Participants learn about the state program, how to complete an application and what to expect during the process.  Staff will assist participants with the application after the presentation.

The compromise of arrears workshops are held monthly on the following Tuesdays: Feb. 4, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 7 and Nov. 4.

Review and Adjustment – Learn the process of modifying a court order if you are paying too much or receiving too little in child support, including who can request a modification, how to request one, and what to expect during the modification process.

The review and adjustment workshops are held every other month on the following Thursdays: Feb. 20, April 17, June 16 and Aug. 21 and Oct. 23.
