Wolfskill 4-H'ers Spearhead Cleanup Day at the Dixon May Fair Grounds

Wolfskill 4-H members invite clubs from throughout Solano County to spend some time cleaning up the grounds of the Dixon May Fair in time for the yearly fair

The idea was simple, to help prepare the fairgrounds for the fair with a local clean up day. This is the idea that I started with last year. I started small and helped clean and decorate the small animal barn last year with a group of 4-H members from Dixon, but this year we worked on the entire Livestock Area and invited the whole county to participate.

This year the Clean Up was held Sunday April 17t, with 52 participants pitching in to make the day a great success. Everyone helped by pulling weeds, cleaning barns, washing bleachers and painting barns. The fair is looking good and we hope to see you on May 4th as the gates open for the fair. Thank you to the 6 participating Solano County 4-H clubs: Dixon Ridge, Vaca Valley, Wolfskill, Suisun Valley, Rio Vista and Elmira. Also a big thanks to the Solano County Young Farmers and Ranchers for volunteering your time and the Dixon May Fair for all of your help in this event.
