Chamber Keeps Coffee Pot Hot

Annual Rotary Crab Feed

Put on your dancing shoes and bring a bib if you want to have a great time at the annual Rotary Crab Feed on Saturday, Feb. 25. Bar opens at 6 p.m. and dinner is 7 -8 p.m. with dancing at 8:30 p.m., until midnight. The popular band, ‘The Time Bandits’ will provide the music.

Yolo Hospice hosts Chamber Mixer

About 50 people comprise the Yolo Hospice—a program that emphasizes the quality of life for people who have life limiting illnesses. They are not necessarily a place as they provide care wherever they are needed when there is no cure. They serve several counties including Solano out of their Davis office.

They are dedicated to helping people live life to its fullest, up to the final moment. They are about surrounding a client and the loved ones with medical, emotional and spiritual support. 

They do this through a well-rounded team approach to addressing the needs of patients and family.

Yolo Hospice will be hosting the next Chamber Mixer on Wednesday, February 22, from 5:30-7 p.m., at the Chamber of Commerce, 220 North Jefferson. Chamber members are $5 and non-members are $10 but first time guests are free. These events offer great networking opportunities and there are raffles, prizes and fun always.

Metro PCS had its official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for joining the Chamber of Commerce today. It was held at the Chamber office.

Coffee Breaks are another chance to mingle with fellow business folks and are hosted by KUIC 95.3 FM with refreshments provided by Ron DuPratt Ford. They are at 10 am:

February 24 at B’s Gallery, 120 North First Street in downtown Dixon

March 2 for U.S. Bank will be held at the Chamber office, 220 North Jefferson Street

March 9 for Chase Bank, 1305 Stratford Avenue in the Safeway Shopping Center

March 16 Ludy’s BBQ will be held at the Chamber office as well.

Solano Economic Development to Meet

The monthly breakfast put on by the Solano Economic Development Corporation is slated for Wednesday, February 29, and the topic is Redevelopment Agency demise and impacts. Since Dixon’s small downtown has relied heavily on these funds in the past for its vitality, this should be an interesting talk.

Founded in 1983 and known as SEDCORP, the Solano Economic Development Corporation is a collaboration of private and public investors that provides a confidential leadership role for economic development marketing in Solano County and its seven cities: Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville and Vallejo.

The mission of the Solano Economic Development Corporation is to attract, grow, and retain business and industry in Solano County that will enhance the economic vitality and quality of life in our communities.

Registration and networking is 7:30-8:30 am with breakfast and program 8 -9:30 am at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfield. Tickets are $25 for Chamber members and you can call the EDC office at (707) 864-1855 for more information.
