Craig, Felton, Arnold Appointed to Dixon Public Library Commission

The Dixon Public Library Governing Board appointed three Dixon residents to serve on the library commission, an advisory body that helps the governing board make decisions concerning the library

Three Dixon residents with a desire to keep the flourishing as a unique community resource were selected by the Library Board to serve on the Library Commission.

Rebecca Craig, Jane Felton and Ian Arnold were chosen from among eight applicants, and were described as being the best from a “very well-qualified group of people.”  They will join Commissioners Susan Ostergard and Olivia Stringer at the meeting of Sept. 19.

Rebecca Craig works as the Assistant City Manager of Elk Grove, where she helped with the new city library building project and also served as the city’s financial representative to the Sacramento-area library agency. She was also involved with the St. Charles City-County Library in Missouri prior to moving to California.  She is a wife and mother, enjoys reading and baking, and holds a CPA license.

Jane Felton works in the , where she serves as a classroom aide.  She has also served as the school librarian at for several years, and also has lengthy experience as a manager for Kaiser Permanente.  She is a gardener, a swimmer, a decorative painter and “I never leave home without a book.”

Ian Arnold works as a field team supervisor for SEIU Local 1021, and works throughout Solano, Napa, Sacramento, Yolo, Butte and Shasta counties. He handles oversight of day-to-day operations, budget, campaign plans and may work closely with endorsed candidates.  Before beginning his SIEU work, he was a social worker and also served in the US Air Force.  He is “… an avid reader … huge fan of libraries,” loves international travel, and motorcycling.
