These two short sentences tell you a lot about our government.

We are told  NOT  to  judge  ALL  Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics. BUT...We are encouraged  TO  judge  ALL American gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Go figure.

Its incomprehensible to me your president is still giving Egypt’s military $1.5 BILLION dollars to be used by enemies of the United States. But, he/they won’t give Oklahoma any money to build storm shelters to protect the children of that area from the numerous  tornadoes that hit that area each year…can someone explain this to me PLEASE? Who are we arming and why...the current military government? The Muslim Brotherhood?  One point 5 Billionand this is just a drop in the bucket to what your Muslim friendly president and congress is giving to the many enemies of the United States to arm themselves in their holy war against us. Can someone please explain this to me and why we just sit by, let this happen and keep sending these dingbats to Washington to work against us?

Which Leads To…

Our very own State Senator Lois Wolk and her demoncratic/Davis/Stienberg/ultra liberal folks championed a bill  aimed at expanding weapons bans and it  made forward progress in the Capitol last Tuesday, following a vote by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. Trust her she is doing this for our own good.

The Assembly Public Safety Committee voted 4-2 in favor of approving Senate Bill 755, which Wolk, D-Solano, says will prevent gun violence by adding gang crimes and multiple drug and alcohol convictions to the list of crimes subject to a decade long firearms prohibition in California, according to a press release issued by spokeswoman Melissa Jones.

This in itself isn’t so bad but hidden way down in the amendments is the controlling demoncrats sneaky agenda to outlaw and then take guns away from law abiding citizens leaving only the criminals to posses and use firearms.

Reportedly by the hearing's end, the committee had voted along party lines to approve bills that would add all semi-automatic rifles that accept detachable magazines to the state's list of banned assault weapons; ban owning any magazine that holds more than 10 rounds, including existing ones; ban "bullet buttons" that allow fast swapping of rifle magazines; require long-gun buyers to pass a written safety test; and add more crimes to the list for which someone is barred from carrying a firearm. The bills, already passed by the state Senate, are moving inexorably closer to floor votes and the governor's desk.

But National Rifle Association lobbyist Ed Worley scoffed at that notion. "We're not looking at a loophole," but rather a vast expansion of government control over a constitutional right,” he was quoted as saying.

This shows the demoncratic way of straight out lying to the public, Wolk showed she is ready for higher office when published reports showed her saying: "This is a reasonable, common-sense measure to help prevent gun violence and keep our communities safe," Wolk said. "SB 755 respects the rights of law-abiding gun owners by focusing on keeping guns out of the hands of gang members, repeat drug and alcohol offenders, and other criminals. By preventing these convicted criminals from purchasing firearms, we will prevent a number of serious violent firearms crimes." Yeah Lois, it’s really worked so far and the criminals are shaking in their boots…like they care or will abide by your stupid grandstanding laws. Why don’t you simply ask the bad guys to turn in their weapons, maybe they will huh?

Which Leads To…Possible Violence

My first wife Linda has as pretty long fuse (she’d have to right?) but one of these days she is going to go berserk on one or three things that really bug her (an living with me isn’t one of them). If you take a shopping cart out to your car and are just too damned lazy to walk a few steps to put it back in a ramp…watch out for her. She doesn’t understand how you can be so lazy and doesn’t really care.

If you’re a kid driving grandma’s car and pull into a handicapped parking space and “run” into the store…watch out when you come back Linda may be waiting to beat the snot out of you…mentally at least.

If you put up a garage sale sign and then don’t take them down afterwards she just might take it down and take it to the PD or have the PD come and take it down and ticket you for littering. In the overall scheme of things these don’t seem like huge problems to most of us but they are sore spots to her.

With me?  Mine are public/private cell phone conservations, Christmas lights still up in August, speeders on residential streets and drunk drivers. Anyone throwing gum on the ground should have their jaw broken…that’s it; or and world peace. Those things and the different ways the sneaky government is going about taking the firearms from the law abiding citizen. They really think it will stop the dirt bags from using their guns on us. Good grief what a fairyland they live in…and in some cases I mean that literally.

Which Leads To Censorship

Last week’s column may have a little controversial I agree but I only had one whiny, liberal, anonymous dad who complained. The column appeared here, on Face book, my web site (which now has had over 150,000 reads and I put it on the Patch.

I guess he got his panty hose in a bunch. Only one guy took me to task (on the Patch no less) talking about me preaching intolerance…well heck, somebody has to do it to offset the liberal California crap that surfaces daily. And, yes, I don’t tolerate the bend over backwards and get everything for nothing (so to speak) for everybody and everything. And, yes, I do believe in the capitalist Golden Rule…You don’t like it…deal with it…don’t try to censor me. You potential book burners need an enema. Most of my stuff apparently does represent the feelings of the majority of the WASP and level headed thinkers in our area.

I usually don’t even dignify gutless people who won’t use their names to back their beliefs but I did answer this guy. He didn’t have his facts straight and went to the Patch upper management with a lie and tried to have me censored so he could have his opinions but I couldn’t have mine. They reminded him about this little known (to him apparently) First Amendment thing and like my employer said when other public enemy’s tried to get me fired, they supported it, and the right of free speech. They said he could respond, which he may, hiding behind a pseudonym of course. Sorry dear, no guts no glory.

It amazes me each time this happens and people want to muzzle me or convince me we to preach their doctrine, yet I/we continue to fight for their right of free speech for them while want to deny mine/ours.

So out of the thousands of readers of this column from four different sources, one dad who must be either the father (or friend or relative) of a gay, lesbian or transgender child, or he’s a cross dresser, who knows which, wants me silenced. There are people on both sides of the fence who may agree or disagree with what I write and that’s ok. I always give them a chance to give their side of any issue as long as they do it up front and not hide behind a fake name.

I don’t agree with the new transgender law or the Boy Scout tax punishment for not allowing gay leaders to become role models for young men…And I freely admit, once again, I have many lesbian tendencies (I can help it I like ‘em) so I may kind of be one of the odd ducks myself. Guess that makes me a guyesbian…and there’s a lot of us out there!

Hurrah For The Bike Patrol!

Way back when I championed the first bike patrols we had I always thought it was the single best thing a little local force can have, for many reasons. I have been a radical supporter of this program since I saw it in action in the PROD (People’s Republic of Davis) decades ago. It is cost effective, good for physical conditioning, quiet, and eco friendly and makes the officers get out of their cars and interact with people.

I overheard someone make a crack about “BBOB” when I asked what that was they said it was in reference to the police department’s new -old bike patrol…”Big Butts On Bikes”. May be but I promise you the law abiding public will come out on top with this action…Way to go Chief Cox, now maybe alcohol and glass bottles will show decreased appearances in our public parks.

Soccer Dads, Football, Coaches And The Like

Making my daily walk-ride around Northwest Park I stop and watch soccer games/practice on a regular basis. I’m not watching the players but the coaches, parents and refs.

Some things never change. During actual games the big mouth dad’s scream at their kids from the sideline over coaching and not in sync with the real coaches. I notice none of them open their mouths at practice or volunteer to take the time to really coach a team…but they know what they are talking about right?

Then you have the one time American football dad who just doesn’t get it about soccer and probably never will. If someone could just video some of these yahoos and play it back for them they might temper their stupid behaviors.

Next you have soccer coaches who have at least read the booklet on coaching and those who are coaching because that’s the way they were taught. You can spot the difference in minutes especially those who cared enough to attend a soccer coaching clinic. Most haven’t because they know it all. I’m seeing a lot more coaches who understand this isn’t the world cup and that they are actually teaching children how to play the game and get along with others. Toe punting past U-8’s give me a break.

Then you have the top of the line idiots who hassle the referees. They of course have never taken a coaches’ clinic or become a certified referee but they know more than those who have. This is the local club’s fault for allowing any parent or spectator to abuse a referee. For the most part, from what I’ve seen, the young ref’s are pretty darned good. I did see a couple of kids that don’t get it that will draw deserved criticism simply because they are wearing a uniform that suggests they know what they are doing and then they show they don’t have a clue…that too is the club’s responsibility. When parents pay as much as they do for the privilege to let their kids play a youth sport they deserve trained and functional officials and responsible coaches to protect their children and make sure the game is fun, fair and safe.
