Promotion gimmicks aside, considering the really warm weather, 7-Eleven is getting their just rewards. Tomorrow is their claimed 'Happy 7-Eleven Day' and the guys at the corner of Stratford Avenue and Highway 113 think they are prepared for the free Slurpee drink give-away
With special cups that are exactly 7.11 ounces, the 5-year veteran behind the counter says he plans to keep busy serving them up. The love relationship between 7-Elevens and the traditional red icy drink has been "like forever," he said asking to remain anonymous.
The drink that is normally offered in four sizes sells year round, he said, but "on the hot days, we sell a lot more." And, he added, the Coca-Cola one far outsells the red one.
The promotion begins on Wednesday, July 11, and will start at 11 am and go until 11 pm or "while supplies last." If you want to reserve your Slurpee, you can go onto the official 7-Eleven site or on Facebook to learn of other promotions by the company. If the local one runs out, though, don't worry. There are at least 30 other 7-Eleven stores in the surrounding area.
