Dixon Business Buzz: Plenty to Do Before the Summer's Over

There is still plenty of summer fun to be enjoyed in Dixon. From farm fresh produce to fun on the farm, there are many upcoming events you don't want to miss hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Dixon Business Association.

You're sure to find something to do here in Dixon in these final summer months. The (DDBA) and have created exciting events and opportunities to spark your desire to get involved.

Dixon Farmers Market continues every Saturday through Aug. 25, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the .  According to the DDBA website, "Local producers and farmers bring their best spring and summer produce like fresh cherries, strawberries, salad greens, artichokes, peaches, nectarines, tomatoes, peppers and corn, all locally grown and straight from the fields."

There's old fashion fun to be had at the Dixon Chamber Family BBQ fundraiser, Saturday, Aug. 18, 3-9 p.m. at . Event will feature ribs, chicken and sides catered by live music by the Baja Boyz, a dunk tank, face painting, horseshoes, jump house and waterslide. $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $10 for 12 & under or $60 for a family ticket (2 adults, 2 children under 17). Tickets available at the Chamber of Commerce.

Interesting in mixing it up at a Chamber Mixer? Meet and network with local business and community members at S & J Jumps, Wednesday, August 18, 5:30-7 p.m. at 5199 Midway Road, Vacaville. $5 for members, $10 non-members.

Stroll the streets of downtown on Saturday, Aug. 25, 4-8 p.m., at the Wine & Art Stroll. Check out new and established businesses downtown while enjoying live music, art pieces from local artists and wine from throughout the valley. Tickets are $20 in advance at the DDBA office, or $25 at the door and include a commemorative wine glass.

Celebrate downtown Sept. 16. The DDBA and Saint Peter's church have teamed up to create this family fun event and are looking for local vendors to supply food, crafts, music, ect. If you are interested in having a booth or getting involved please contact Ana Tejeda of the DDBA at 707-678-8400.
