Last night at the candidates forum, I asked Mr. Ceremello how--if elected mayor--he would create an environment at city council meetings that would be civil and welcoming to different ideas.
As anyone knows who has read his weekly column, Mr. Ceremello is fond of calling people names. You know, things like "cockroach," "idiot," toadie," "miscreant," "buffoon," well, you know the list.
He said that he has run a meeting in the mayor's absence and he did--and would--treat people fairly during city council meetings. That's how I thought of the Ceremello Two-Step.
- Step 1: First he runs a fair, respectful meeting, listening to people who have different opinions.
- Step 2: Then he goes home, takes out his poison pen (or keyboard) and savages the people who have the nerve to disagree with him. The Ceremello-Two-Step.
Am I wrong? Will Mr. Ceremello change his bomb-throwing ways and be the type of mayor that can be the public face of our city?
I await your response and/or abuse.
