Dixon Patch Athlete of the Week: Michael Tomelloso
The point guard is currently the Rams' leading scorer.
senior Michael Tomelloso is the Dixon Patch Athlete of the Week.
Tomelloso is currently the Rams leading scorer, averaging 12.5 points per game. Coach Sam Harrison said the Dixon point guard is like another coach on the basketball court.
“He keeps the kids in position. He runs our offense,” Harrison said. “When things aren’t going right, he makes things right…He’s the chalice of the team. He’s the one that makes it gel."

Tomelloso started playing basketball in first grade, and played for Dixon Youth Basketball and the Davis Wildcats while growing up.
He said this year’s Rams squad is more defensively oriented.

“We try to run the other team out of the gym,” he said.
Tomelloso said he mainly focuses on doing school work and playing basketball. He wants to study criminal justice and would also like to keep playing basketball in college.
