Dixon Patch Athlete of the Week: Marcos Pangelinan

Marcos Pangelinan is this week’s Dixon Patch Athlete of the Week. He scored two touchdowns in the football team’s 56-14 loss against Patterson in week one.

“I think that he’s a good leader and a good motivator of his teammates and he’s probably one of the hardest workers we have out here,” Rams coach Wes Besseghini said.

Pangelinan knows he’s looked upon by many of his teammates.

“I know everybody looks on me as one of those key role players on my team,” he said. “I try to be the best role I can be not just as my team, but for everybody.”

Pangelinan said he wants to play college football after he graduates, and Besseghini thinks he’s more than capable of doing that.

“He’s got the athletic ability,” he said.  “If he’s ready to put in the time and work he can do that.”

Football is everything to Pangelinan.

“School and football there is all there is,” he said.

Pangelinan said he’ll go home after school and watch Rams’ practice/game film, in addition to watching just about anything football related on television.

“The next day, (I) go to school, go to practice and do it all over again,” he said.

Pangelinan is an Oakland Raiders and USC fan.
