Excitement is in the air as Dixon Little League prepares for its Family Fun Day celebration at Hall Park Baseball Complex Saturday.

Now in its second year, the Family Fun Day promotes Dixon Little League by creating a festive, baseball-tinged atmosphere for Dixon families.

“It’s our 2nd Annual Fun Day, that’s when we try to get families down to the park to enjoy Little League Baseball,” said Scott Smith, Dixon Lions Club first vice president.

Dixon Little League provides a variety of benefits for its players Smith said. It instills a sense of teamwork, helps players develop baseball skills, creates friendships and helps kids secure spots on high school teams by teaching them essential skills in America's favorite pastime.

Saturday’s festivities will begin with team photos, from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. At 10 a.m. the Dixon Lions Club will fire up the grills and barbecue trip-tip sandwiches for the hungry masses. A snack bar will offer tasty treats such as funnel cakes and snow cones.

The event will be highlighted by baseball games throughout the day, a player hit-a-thon and raffle prizes. Everyone is welcome to the park to enjoy a day of baseball-filled fun. Proceeds generated by the sandwich and snack bar sales will benefit Dixon Little League.
