DHS Cross Country: Rams Finish 22nd at State Meet

Dixon's McDermott finishes 44th.

The Dixon High cross country team finished in 22nd place in the Division 4 California State cross country meet in Fresno on Saturday.

Rams cross country Tom Crumpacker said the team had been battling injuries prior to the meet.

“For one, pace and being in this environment, it’s really tough,” he said.

Anthony McDermott was Dixon’s best finisher, crossing the line in 44th place among 197 runners at 16:39. McDermott finished 133rd out of 205 runners in last year’s meet. The Rams will return their entire team minus McDermott next year.

“It’s inexperience, so hopefully in the future we will go nowhere but up,” Crumpacker said.
